It all started in 1979 when Fox released the Ridley Scott movie Alien. The action inside the Nostromo turned the science fiction classic into a horror classic and turned Sigourney Weaver's character, Ellen Ripley, into a kick ass hero capable of taking down the seemingly indestructible Xenomorph. Aliens, directed by James Cameron, was released in 1986 and still managed a claustrophobic feel as it expanded the number of Xenomorphs and essentially turned the movie into a franchise. With unforgettable quotes like “Game over, man” and scenes like a facehugger exploding out of a chest, these movies are truly iconic.
